KBAL has excelled in responding to our customers individual needs. The end product seen by the customer does not always show the vast amount of support available. Here are some of the ways that KBAL supports its operation worldwide.
KBAL prides itself on its highly trained pilots. Many of our crews have specialized expertise and often can assist the customer on-site for optimal landing areas and time saving logistics. Each Kenn Borek Air Captain holds a Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License and all flight crew members are IFR rated.
The Corporate office is home to our 24-hour flight following office where at any time, the world wide location of all our aircraft is known through GPS tracking. Onboard Satellite phones have been installed in all our aircraft allowing the Flight Crew and Flight Following the ability to communicate at any time.
REMOTE SERVICES
KBAL has the ability to operate safely and economically in extreme climates and remote areas by fully utilizing the capabilities of each aircraft type. We have combined our universal fleet with highly qualified flight and ground crews to provide a team of specialists to meet the demands of any challenge.
ARCTIC
Working in the Arcrtic is our passion and has defined who we are for many years. We pride ourselves in our knowledge of the most remote areas and harshest environments. We have supported the Canadian government's scientific research out of our Resolute Bay location for many years. Working with our joint ventures, Aklak Air and Unaalik Aviation, we provide charter flights across the Canadian north in whatever capacity required.
ANTARCTIC
KBAL has been heavily involved in Antarctic operations for the past 27 years. In 2011 KBAL had a total of 17 aircraft on the Antarctic continent in support of scientific research.
SURVEY
KBAL has been involved with a variety of domestic and international survey operations. We have many years of experience in not only piloting survey flights but also with the installation and aircraft modification of the King Air 200, DC-3T and Twin Otter. KBAL's engineering and avionics team work closely with the client to ensure that each application is tailored to the client’s requirement.
AIR AMBULANCE
KBAL has many years of medevac experience. We have supported both long and short term ALS contracts throughout Canada's Arctic and westen Canada including repatriation flights to the United States of America.
PARADROP
The DC3T and Twin Otter are prime aircraft to support paradrop activities. KBAL has supported the U.S. Department of the Interior initial attack smoke jumping operations throughout the U.S. north west. Currently we offer air support to the British Columbia Ministry of Forests located in Fort St. John, British Columbia
BULK FUEL
The DC3T can be configured for bulk-fuel operations.
CARGO
With large cargo doors and payload of 8500 lbs, the DC3T is well suited for moving large loads and equipment.
