Kenn Borek Air Ltd. has excelled in responding to our customers individual needs. The end product seen by the customer does not always show the vast amount of support available. Here are some of the ways that KBAL supports its operation worldwide.
Safety
Our Safety Management System is consistent and aligned with Transport Canada’s highest airline standard complete with Emergency Response Plan and Audit Policy Procedures. The President is the Accountable Executive and is responsible for maintaining our safety mindset that is already part of our employee’s corporate culture.
Maintenance Program ( Twin Otter Maintenance , DC-3 Maintenance , Basler Maintenance )
We offer a full service overhaul maintenance hangar in Calgary with routine maintenance being completed wherever the aircraft is located. Our knowledge of our aircraft is long standing and substantial. Our engineering department can complete the modification process for specific survey platforms. The avionics department routinely installs customers’ specialized equipment.
Flight Crews
220 highly trained pilots are employed by KBAL and provide flexibility in costs and availability. The customer is provided options of multiple crews to complete restricted time related flights, or just one crew to minimize costs. Many of our crews have specialized expertise and often can assist the customer on site for optimal landing areas and time saving logistics. We operate with two flight crew trained in Instrument Flight conditions with the Captain required to have the highest Airline Transport Pilot License.
Centralized Dispatch/ Communication
Our Calgary office contains our 24-hour dispatch office where at any time, the worldwide location of all our aircraft is known through GPS tracking. If airborne, time of arrival at destination can be calculated. Onboard Satellite phones have been installed in all our aircraft allowing the Flight Crew and Dispatch to be able to communicate at any time. The phones have a built in notification feature which further enhances the safety of the flight.
